Here’s a special treat for you this Valentine’s – my little cover version of “The Weeping Willow” song, from my favourite Sierra game King’s Quest 5!
This one is a piece of my heart (and childhood) and so very special to me.
The willow tree in this story is actually an enchanted princess. And she misses her fiancé!
One day they were out for a walk in the forest, when an evil witch appeared. She took a shine to her groom-to-be (who wasn’t interested.) Jealous of the princess’s good looks, she stole her heart, turned it to gold and her into a willow tree.
The only way for the princess to become human again is by getting her heart back. Her only comfort until then is her harp and this little melody she plays on it, over and over again…it’s short but very magical.
Anyway, click here to listen and/or download my cover version of the song she sings. I hope you’ll like it!
If you’re weeping like the willow this Valentine’s, I’m sending you a massive hug and tonnes of love.
And if not, I’m also sending you a hug and lots of love! Happy Universal Love Day – I hope it’s sweet and magical for you <3
Please note the original composition is by Ken Allen and Mark Seibert. I claim no rights to this beautiful song 🙂
